Hi, I am Pat Howe and I will use this page to tell you a bit about me and why I set up this site.
Over the years I have had a few different hobbies but one or two have stayed the course, of which Computing is one. I have had a couple of different career paths that have always led to management but within these I’ve always tried to utilise my computing skills to enhance what we do.
For nearly 17 years I have had the pleasure of working in the field of my hobby as a software developer and now I have the privilege of managing software developers and projects as the Development Manager at Conduent. I am part of a global team so that means I get to work with colleagues from many countries around the world.
Management doesn’t leave me much time to code at work anymore but I still stay involved as I have my own business in which I help small businesses and not for profits with the kind of professional development services that they would otherwise not be able to afford.
My hobby is my work and my work is my hobby so I am one of the lucky ones that gets paid for doing what makes me happy. However, I am not a spokesperson for my employer so everything that I put on this site is entirely my own opinion and not that of my employer.
I’ve had a couple of attempts at writing my own blog in the past (from 2001-2004 and then from 2008-2011) and finally again in 2014 (this site). This site was setup in 2009 for Pat Howe Web Solutions but I have moved all of that content to the My Web Minder site but kept the news/blog that I added in January 2014 here. This enables me to keep all my news and articles in one place and share those via other channels rather than trying to post in many places at once.
If you have any feedback about this site feel free to contact me.
